Marketing and Self Promotion plans and thoughts

Alongside my major project, which I have posted about, I also have a marketing and self promotion brief to complete. This will include making a CV, a cover letter for a specified recipient (as well as a list of 9 other companies to send it to), a press pack to promote myself with and a finished portfolio to display at my end of year degree show.

I am looking forward to working on this brief because I think it will be interesting and valuable to learn how to start marketing myself as a designer and also to have some time to consider what kind of employment I may want to be looking for.

For my press packs I plan to keep them bright and colourful and showcase my unique designer identity, showing off my cute motifs and designs. I want to include some extra pieces in them as well, such as printed fabric or laser cut acrylic pieces.

I think the portfolio part will be challenging as I have not had to put one together since I was in college and applying for university!

It will be so rewarding when it is all done though to see how far I have come in the last three years and be able to feel proud of everything I have made and achieved in Surface Pattern Design and I am excited to see it when it is all done.
