My Major Project plans

As my major project is fast approaching, I would like to share some of the plans I have for it as I am very excited to start working on it.

My theme will be called 'Eclectic Subculture' and I will be taking inspiration from the likes of Japanese Harajuku fashions such as Decora. I will be looking at old FRUiTS magazines and books from the late 90s and early 2000s to find inspiration, as I want to delve into the idea of nostalgia as well as Harajuku fashion as I think they go hand in hand.

I touched on the notion of nostalgia in my second year 'collections' project where I used the idea of memories being a collection and looked upon old photos and 90s fashion for inspiration.

I am planning on using a mix of bright/neon colours as well as some more pastel tones to get the right combination of cute and busy in my prints and designs. I want to platy with cutting acrylic into some accessories and I also plan on making a look book to showcase my designs at the end in my degree show.

This is an exciting and scary time, this being my last project of my BA and I am excited to see where it takes me.
