I recently visited the Glynn Vivian (which I seem to be doing a lot, probably because it's so close to uni) and I dropped into the Philip Eglin exhibition.
Upon entering, I realised it was mostly sculpture which I wasn't usually interested in but it still caught my eye.
I really liked the plastic bottles/casts, they were really bright and yet so mundane and not something you would usually pay attention to. This relates to my work as I like to draw things that aren't usually paid attention to and make them interesting.

I also liked how his work had a lot of political/social and religious connotations, including sculpted figures with the easily recognised McDonald's logo molded onto them. It gave his work a political stance, possibly questioning our consumerist society and how we are only interested in things with recognisable brands plastered on them. But, of course, this is just a speculation and my opinion.
It was also interesting how Jesus popped up on some of his work, making me question why there were religious connotations.
Overall, I really liked this exhibition and I will be looking further into Eglin's work.
