I always love visiting the Mission Gallery, the work is always unique and inspiring and it has the local feel that a visiting a bigger gallery, such as the Tate or the V&A, wouldn't give.

Anne Gibbs' work consisted of delicate sculptures in fun and pastel colours and took the form of interesting and unusual shapes. The sculptures were small scale and arranged in the way that almost made them look like natural forms/found objects.

I really liked the colours that she used, I thought the combination of the soft pastels with the hot pink and slime green worked really well and inspired me to think about using a combination of soft and bright colours in my own work to achieve a similar look.

To accompany the sculpted pieces, there were also some small paintings on paper that seemed to mirror the objects that they were placed with. I thought the paintings added a kind of hand-made vibe to the collection, which was nice.

I really liked this exhibition and I will be using Anne Gibbs as research for my project.
